as im sure many of us have done.. i was looking thru a pile of old pennys. im sure we all have that jar of old pennies that just grows and grows over the years. but as i looked thru the different pennys.. ranging from 2010 to 1960 i stopped and thought to myself.. ohh what a story this penny could tell. have you ever stopped to think about the story behind just one penny? who had the penny before you? how many people have handled that one penny before you. has that penny traveled the world? was it in the pocket of kennedy the day he died? was it in the pocket of a loved one who was killed in the streets.. has it been in the hands of millionaires?...billionaires?? has it been in the hands of celebrites? has it been in ohioo for the last 50 years? has it even left the city?
if would give anything to be able to sit down with one penny and learn its history.. weird yes.. but think about it.. a penny is is the most USED coin in america.. and its at the same time the most neglected.. did this penny lay in a public restroom in that space behind the toilet just out of reach? how long did it sit there.. what kind of deseases has this penny picked up over the years.. does t still carey deadly bacteria? hAVE YOU ever put a penny in your mouth? has this penny seen millions of hands? blood.. aids.. cancer.. polio.. west nile?? WAS this penny in obamas pocket.. or michelles purse when he was elected?
whats the longest its set in one place with out being moved? a few hours? days? 40 years? who was this pennys longest owner? how many different cash registers have this penny seen? how many banks? what happened to the penny that was made just before it.. or just after? what happened to the penny that was in the same roll the day it was made? how long before they were seperated? how many people who have had possession of this penny are still alive? how many died while the penny was in their hand.. in there pocket.. in there purse...exactly how dirty is this penny?? should i be washing my hands after touching it?
has this penny ever seen the bottom of a well? did it go into space? under the sea? did michael jackson buy something using this penny? oh penny show me your history. take me on the adventure of your exsistance..show me what youve seen..take me where youve been.. introduce me tho those youve met..or havent you noticed?
